ALL-CONFERENCE SETTER HASSETT LEADS OAK LAWN TO SUCCESS

As the only senior on Oak Lawn Community High School’s girls volleyball team and the team’s setter, Maeve Hassett had a lot on her plate this year. Yes, it was a lot of responsibility, but she simply handled it all so well.

She led the team in assists, earned All-South Suburban Conference Red honors, helped the Spartans win the conference championship, and played a major role in the team setting a school record for wins.

“Maeve had a phenomenal second half of the season and was a key contributor to our team,” head coach Kathleen Miller said. “Her growth as a setter was phenomenal—she ran our offense with smart selections and placed the ball optimally for our hitters.

“We owe Maeve much praise and gratitude, as she paved the way for future success and was a great mentor to our younger players.”
