SALEH COMES UP BIG FOR SPARTANS IN SSC RED CHAMPIONSHIP RUN

Sophomore Omar Saleh has been on the varsity boys basketball team for most of the season at Oak Lawn Community High School, but it was not until January that he started to see consistent minutes on the floor. He provided the team with depth, rebounding, and solid defense.

However, when the Spartans faced off with Eisenhower in the final game of the South Suburban Conference Red season last week, Saleh provided even more. He went 6-for-6 from the field and scored a career-high 14 points as the Spartans clinched their third conference title in a row with a victory over the Cardinals.

“He has made a tremendous impact for our team off the bench, providing us with solid defense and rebounding to go along with all-out effort and an emerging offensive game,” head coach Jason Rhodes said. “He’s a good cutter, communicator, and rapidly improving shooter. His mentality, hard work, and tenacity have paid off, and he has a bright future ahead.”
