The Oak Lawn Community High School Speech Team found great success at the IHSA State Tournament, placing 14th out of 85 schools. Maya Quininez and Orlando Ramirez advanced to the final rounds. Maya Quinonez took 5th place in the State in Prose Reading, and Orlando Ramirez came home with a State Championship in Original Comedy! Speech coach Mike Olsson said, “Mr. Capriola and I are beyond proud of Orlando and Maya: two truly dedicated leaders of our team. A well-earned congratulations to them both, and our entire team, who rallied behind these seniors to support the heck out of them at the State Tournament. Go Spartans!”
