The Oak Lawn Community High School girls track team recently took third place at the South Suburban Conference Red meet, and junior Lamia Quinones was a big part of that. After winning the 400-meter dash last year, Quinones returned to repeat as conference champion this year.
“Lamia has grown into a leadership role as one of two junior captains for the team,” head coach Joe Butler said. “Her competitive fire and work ethic inspires others. She enters the Illinois High School Association Sectional meet with the opportunity to again qualify for the state championship meet held at Eastern Illinois University in Charleston, Ill.”
