When Maeve Hassett graduated last spring, the Oak Lawn Community High School girls volleyball knew it was looking for a new varsity setter. Having made a strong commitment to fine tune her skills in the offseason, Kasey Thompson is the Spartan who stepped into that role.
Without a doubt, she is doing a fantastic job and is leading the Spartans to win after win. In fact, as of Wednesday, the Spartans remained unbeaten on the season and boast a ranking in the Top 10 of area schools.
“Kasey has taken the reins of our offense and is having a breakout season,” head coach Kathleen Miller said. “She is composed and makes everyone on the court better. As our setter, Kasey has been instrumental in our early success this season. Her commitment to improvement in the offseason is evident in her performance so far.”
