Although he’s just a sophomore, Laith Barakat is making a name for himself on the wrestling team at Oak Lawn Community High School. In his first year on the varsity team, he has improved by leaps and bounds. Barakat earned a spot among the Top Five on the team in both wins and takedowns.
“After wrestling junior varsity last year, Laith’s hard work and determination have propelled him to success at the varsity level,” head coach David Early said. “His rapid improvement and relentless effort on the mat have made him a key contributor to the Spartans’ strong season. Laith’s growth as a wrestler is a testament to his dedication, and he’s just getting started.”
