Congratulations to the Varsity Boys Bowling Team for winning the IHSA Regional Championship last Friday at Palos Lanes. This is our 3rd Regional title in the last 4 years. The Team had their best tournament of the season knocking down 6472 pins over 6 games. Only 4 bowlers earn All Regional Honors and Oak Lawn had 3 of them. Gavin Rybicki finished in 2nd place overall, Justin Canvin 3rd, and David Bush in 4th. Peter Garcia also had a great day finishing in the top 10. We move on to the Andrew Sectional this Friday at Thunder Bowl. Good luck Spartans!
The Varsity Scholastic Bowl team had a solid win over TF South at the Shepard meet. At the meet, the team was led in tossup scoring by Joseph O’Leary with 4, Shawn Perry with 3, Allie Gabriel with 2, Kailey Dykema, and Belal Moutaouakkil with 2. The JV also had some nice performances led by Evangelina Angula with 3, Kiara Lara with 3, Cassidy Perry with 3, and Yusr Elameer with 1.
Paint the Gym Purple T-shirts will be on sale beginning Wednesday 1/22 through Tuesday 1/28 during all lunches. Shirts are $10 ea. Cash, check and Omella (similar to Zelle/Venmo) are all accepted. Proceeds from the shirt sales fund the Spartan Survivor Scholarship which is awarded to seniors who have been affected by cancer. Thank you in advance for supporting this initiative. Wear your shirt on Tuesday 1/28 when we paint the gym purple!

We’re gearing up to practice dance routines for our next performance during Global Society Week, and we’d love for you to join us. If you’re interested, come to our practices every Tuesday after school in room 356 with Ms. Torres. Let’s bring the energy, have fun, and make this performance unforgettable!

Get ready for the most exciting night of the year! Tickets for the Baile de Corazón will go on sale on February 3rd for just $15 per person on the school website. February 15th promises to be a night full of music, fun, and the best Latin beats to dance the night away with that special someone!
Planning to bring a friend from another school? Be sure to pick up the guest form from the main office, the Deans, or Room 356. Due February 7th.
Ventra cards can be renewed for the 2024-25 school year and new Ventra cards can be purchased for $2.00 in the Business Office, Room 123. If you’ve already purchased a card online from the OLCHS Webstore, please pick it up in the Business Office. Business Office hours are 7:30am – 3:30pm. Plan accordingly! You will not be excused from class to renew or purchase a card.

Club/Team News
Bible Club - Bible Club has its first meeting of the second semester TODAY THURSDAY – January 23rd. We will be discussing second semester plans, starting our next Bible study, and enjoying some snacks. See you Thursday right after school in room 212. Anyone is welcome.
MSA - MSA will be collecting food items for the first annual “Ramadan Food Drive” that will run through February 21st. Flour, sugar, semolina, vegetable oil, and cereal are some items appreciated as well as grocery store gift cards. Carts will be out in the media center hallway for collection. All proceeds will go to the Mosque Foundation Food Pantry.

Attention Juniors - Teachers are hosting special test prep sessions that are designed to prepare you for the ACT. The sessions will be every Monday and Friday and take place during Spartan Plus.
