Last spring Danielle Dempsey had a great junior campaign on the softball diamond, leading Oak Lawn Community High School in many offensive categories. This year as a senior, she picked up right where she left off with an explosive season-opening performance.
Dempsey had two hits, including a huge home run over the rightfield fence and ended up in the woods by the Spartan Athletic Complex. In that 11-3 win over Hinsdale South, she added three RBIs and three runs scored.
Dempsey looks to continue the hot hitting as the Spartans begin South Suburban Conference play.
