Stuff You Need to Know

Juniors and Seniors… it is time to celebrate! Prom is Friday, May 2nd at The Odyssey in Tinley Park from 7-11pm.  This year’s theme is “All the Lights”.  Tickets are $90 per person.  They are being sold online through the Webstore until April 22nd.  No tickets will be sold at the door.

OLCHS students and guests must show a valid ID, and their e-mailed ticket receipt, to enter the dance.  Guest forms are available in both Dean’s and Main offices as well as on the school website.  Completed guest forms must be returned to the Deans’ office no later than April 21st.  Guest tickets may then be purchased online from April 24th - 28th.

OLCHS freshmen and sophomores are considered guests and require a guest form.  Freshmen and sophomores will not be able to purchase their own prom ticket.

After a decade’s-long absence, we are bringing back Prom Royalty this year!  Once you purchase your ticket online, you may nominate one senior boy and one senior girl for the Prom Court.  Voting will take place at the dance.

The Spartan Survivor Scholarship is open to any senior who has been affected by cancer. Recipients must have at least a 2.0 GPA and plan to attend post-secondary schooling at either a 4-year college, community college, or career/trade school. Please apply using this link: Spartan Survivor Scholarship Application. Applicants will be judged on the merit of their essay responses. Entries are due Friday, April 25, 2025.

Reminder: For all students with Saturday Detention… You must enter through the North doors #4. The Spartan Lobby is closed for the reminder of the school year.

Ventra cards can be renewed for the 2024-25 school year and new Ventra cards can be purchased for $2.00 in the Business Office, Room 123.  If you’ve already purchased a card online from the OLCHS Webstore, please pick it up in the Business Office. Business Office hours are 7:30am – 3:30pm. Plan accordingly! You will not be excused from class to renew or purchase a card.

Tech Help - If you’re having trouble logging into your classes or having any other tech issues, please email iPad Support for tech assistance. If possible, include a screenshot of your issue. 

The iTeam Genius Bar is open from 7:45 am - 3:00 pm. Students can come to the Media Center for support.

Club/Team News

Creative Writing Club - Creative Writing Club will meet TOMORROW Tuesday 4/8 at 3pm in the college and career center. Please let Mrs. Madsen or Mrs. Razik know if you cannot attend. See you there!

Graphic Design club - Graphic Design club will meet THIS Wednesday, April 9th in room 146 from 3-4pm. Please see Mrs. Hartmann with questions.

Athletic News

The OLCHS Athletic Booster Club is excited to offer their annual Joe Pajac Scholarships. Each year, the Booster Club provides three (3) $1000 scholarships to senior athletes who will be continuing their education after graduation. Athletes must also have a family member that is a registered Booster Club member by April 4th. To submit an application, please visit the Athletic Office for a paper application, or use the following link to apply online (Application Link). Applications are due by 3:30pm on Monday, April 28th.

Attention all students that are interested in forming a Girls Flag Football program here at OLCHS! We will have our second and final interest meeting after school THIS Wednesday, April 9th at 3:10pm in the student services conference room. OLCHS is looking to gather information on whether this is a sport that our students would be interested in. The purpose of this meeting is to provide information surrounding the sport and generate levels of commitment for the program. Girls Flag Football would run in the fall season at the start of next school year. If you are interested in hearing about the program, please stop by the meeting or contact Mr. Cryan in the Athletic Office.
