ANDERSON MOVES UP ALL-TIME OLCHS TRACK BOARD

To compete in the 3,200-meter race in track, an athlete needs a particular drive and mindset to be successful at it. Oak Lawn Community High School’s Naliyah Anderson meets all these requirements, and last weekend she lowered her Personal Record in the event by almost a minute.

She finished the 3,200 meters in 12:37.33 at the competitive Stagg Varsity Co-ed Invitational and moved up to second on the OLCHS all-time list.

“Naliyah is new to the exhausting 3,200-meter race and has emerged as this season’s leader at the distance,” head coach Joe Butler said. “Her work ethic mirrors the fire in her vocal encouragement to her distance crew teammates. An individual conference championship in the South Suburban Conference Red is well within her reach. We are very proud of this living legendary Spartan.”
