Stuff You Need to Know

Juniors and Seniors… it is time to celebrate! Prom is Friday, May 2nd at The Odyssey in Tinley Park from 7-11pm.  This year’s theme is “All the Lights”. No tickets will be sold at the door. OLCHS students and guests must show a valid ID, and their e-mailed ticket receipt, to enter the dance.  Guest tickets may be purchased online from April 24th - 28th. OLCHS freshmen and sophomores are considered guests and require a guest form.  Freshmen and sophomores will not be able to purchase their own prom ticket. After a decade’s-long absence, we are bringing back Prom Royalty this year! Voting will take place at the dance.

Post-Prom Lake Michigan Cruise Tickets - Prom is right around the corner, and with it comes one of Oak Lawn Community High School's most popular tradition!  Join us for an unforgettable night on the Post-Prom Cruise at Lake Michigan sponsored by SADD on Friday, May 2, 2025. The $35 Tickets for the Post-Prom Cruise can be purchased both online and in the main office. Don’t miss this wonderful opportunity!

The Spartan Survivor Scholarship is open to any senior who has been affected by cancer. Recipients must have at least a 2.0 GPA and plan to attend post-secondary schooling at either a 4-year college, community college, or career/trade school. Please apply using this link: Spartan Survivor Scholarship Application. Applicants will be judged on the merit of their essay responses. Entries are due Friday, April 25, 2025.

Ventra cards can be renewed for the 2024-25 school year and new Ventra cards can be purchased for $2.00 in the Business Office, Room 123.  If you’ve already purchased a card online from the OLCHS Webstore, please pick it up in the Business Office. Business Office hours are 7:30am – 3:30pm. Plan accordingly! You will not be excused from class to renew or purchase a card.

Tech Help - If you’re having trouble logging into your classes or having any other tech issues, please email iPad Support for tech assistance. If possible, include a screenshot of your issue. 

The iTeam Genius Bar is open from 7:45 am - 3:00 pm. Students can come to the Media Center for support.

Club/Team News

Peer Tutors Needed: If you want to be a peer tutor and help other students while earning service-learning hours, come to the Peer Tutors Open Meeting TODAY Wednesday 4/23 at 3:05pm in the College Career Center 117G. All grade levels are welcome. You should have received As or Bs in the subject areas you plan to tutor, and you cannot be failing any current classes. Questions? Email Mrs. Meierkort

Athletic News

Dance Team - Hello Spartans! Are you interested in dancing for the school's varsity dance team? If so, we are hosting our 2025-26 dance team auditions on May 7th, in the dance studio from 5:30-9pm! Please see your email for student announcements, and the flyers posted around the school for more information on how to register for try-outs. 

The OLCHS Athletic Booster Club is excited to offer their annual Joe Pajac Scholarships. Each year, the Booster Club provides three (3) $1000 scholarships to senior athletes who will be continuing their education after graduation. Athletes must also have a family member that is a registered Booster Club member by April 4th. To submit an application, please visit the Athletic Office for a paper application, or use the following link to apply online (Application Link). Applications are due by 3:30pm on Monday, April 28th.

The Sully Shuffle Foundation is excited to offer the Skip Sullivan Athletic Scholarship. The foundation will award two $1,000 scholarships to one male and one female senior multi-sport athlete.

The scholarship’s namesake is an OLCHS alumni who was a multi-sport athlete as a student and returned to his alma mater to serve as both a teacher and coach for over 40 years. Please use this form to apply for the scholarship. You must also have one recommendation from a coach. The deadline to apply is April 25, 2025. Please see Mrs. Meyers in the Media Center if you have any questions.

The Girls Volleyball Pink Out game raised money for the Karen Janecek Scholarship. If you are a senior whose family has been affected by breast cancer, you are eligible to apply for this scholarship. The deadline to apply is April 25, 2025. Please use this Google form to apply.
